Tadelackt (Moroccan Plaster)

Tadelackt is a bright, waterproof lime plaster which be used used on both the inside and outside of buildings. Traditionally, it has been used as a coating in palaces, hammams (Turkish baths) and riads (traditional houses) in Morocco. Tadelackt is often produced with lime from Marrakesh, but other types are also used.

Typically polished with a river stone and treated with a soft soap, tadelackt appears to undulate and is waterproof, making it ideal for bathrooms.

Tadelackt finishes have been popularised by the resurgance of interest in Moroccan riad style, which is ideal for the Australian climate and lifestyle.
