Popularized in Venice during the Renaissance, this is the Venetian Decorators of decorative wall and ceiling finishes. Special materials (including lime, ground marble and pigments) combined with skilled application (layers of plaster, smoothed down with a hand trowel) create a shiny surface that’s beautiful and durable.
Why Plaster? Involving four to eight hand-applied coats followed by a layer of protective wax, it proves to provide unlimited color and texture options, to be easier to clean, and last longer than paint.
